Live From Mount Olympus has received three gold awards including Best Original Score / Music.
I have loved sitting at my desk listening to the actors, and translating the emotion, tone, space, action and temperature to music and sound and more so on a topic so familiar and dear to me as Greek Mythology.
Our process would start with creator / showrunner Julie Burstein, going over spotting notes. Then I would retire to my composing cave to write, record, mix, edit, chop, sample, program and perform what slowly becomes the underscore for battles, intimate conversations, walks in a field, arrivals in ancient cities, encounters with all sorts of gods, demigods, creatures, beasts and spirits.
Specifically for Season 7, I was asked to write and produce songs that the actors would sing, making the process resemble more so, a musical. Lyricist Malena Marcase joined the team and we wrote a handful of songs that range from majestic celebrations, to soft apologies.
Gods allowed, there will be a soundtrack released in 2027 for all LFMO super fans to put on repeat! ✨🏺🏛️
